That Terrible Day

Before any hurricane hits, we are always warned by a meteorologist. We often see signs on the side of the road warning, "Hurricane season is coming, get ready!"

Some of the warnings are given several months ahead, and some are given only a few days before the storm arrives.

We, as Houstonians, have experienced some difficult days in the past few weeks.

During the storm, there was severe damage from flooding, people went missing, highways were shut down, airports were closed, and chemical plants were exploding.

Normal life was at a standstill, people were in distress and constant panic. In essence, it was really a terrible few days.

But today, I want to warn you of a day, where things will be a thousand times more terrible than what any hurricane has brought.

And that day will not only affect Houston or Florida, but the entire world.

No one can predict that day, there will be absolutely no warnings.

In Paul’s words, 1 Corinthians15:52 - "in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye it will take place."

No astrologist, no meteorologist will have any clue as to the timing of that day.

1Thessalonians 5:2 - "While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape."

When that day comes, an extremely large amount of people will go missing from this planet.

People will go missing from their own families, from their churches, from their work places.

Roads and highways will be chaotic, and not only highway 288 and or I-45, but every single road and highway all over th world.

Airports all over the world will be shut down with all air traffic in disarray.

Oil refineries and chemical plants will be in danger and explosions will happen all over the world.

Normal life will freeze and people all over the world will be in immense shock and constant panic; it will be a terrible day for the entire world!

1Thessalonians 5:2 - "While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape."

While people are saying, “Peace and safety” - in other words, while people are running after material things.

Luke 17:26-27 - "Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating; drinking, marring and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all."

The people of the world were caught unprepared as they engaged in their everyday activities of eating and drinking, marrying, buying and selling. The days of the flood were sudden and the people were unprepared.

The only warning was given by Noah. Noah disturbed their freedom and peace by calling for repentance.

1Thessalonians 5:3 - While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

In other words, while people are running after material things, while people are playing politics in the church, while people are fighting for positions in the church, while people are spending millions for unnecessary things.

My dear brothers and sisters, come back to Jesus, He is coming! He is coming! He is coming! Get ready to meet our Lord Jesus Christ very soon.

1Thessalonians 5:2 - "for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night."

It will be a terrible day for this world, but God’s people will be with the Lord.

1Thessalonians 4:16-18 - "For the Lord, himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words."

Luke 12:40 - "You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”

Luke 12:35 - "Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning"
