For Better, Not Worse (Part 3)

September 3, 2018

1 Corinthians 11:23- 24 - "For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.”

Whatever I have received from the Lord is not for me alone, but also for you - that’s why we must pass our God given blessings to others. A Christ-like nature involves sharing and not keeping to ourselves.

Jesus (God is Spirit) took the bread (body).

The word became flesh – God became man – God the Son took human form.

He had given thanks - meaning he blessed it. Yes, the bread was blessed by the Father at the time of Jesus’s baptism in the Jordan River.

And it was broken at Calvary

Jesus said, "this is my body which is for you" - the bread represents His body.

Why did eternal God come to this world in a human body?
