Exercising Kingdom Authority

Acts:12: 1-5. It was about this time that King Herod arrested some who belonged to the church, intending to persecute them. 2 He had James, the brother of John, put to death with the sword. 3 When he saw that this met with approval among the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also. This happened during the Festival of Unleavened Bread. 4 After arresting him, he put him in prison, handing him over to be guarded by four squads of four soldiers each. Herod intended to bring him out for public trial after the Passover.5 So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.

Roman government has put Peter in the prison, now Peter is under Roman authority, Roman kingdom was the world super power in those days

No one can escape from their custody, Peter is now in the hands of a kingdom, he is in the hands of a government, he is in the hands of a king Herod.

A small congregation in Jerusalem started to pray for Peter. Can they deliver him from the hands of a kingdom, government, king Herod?

Only the higher authority can cancel the decision of Roman government – no religion can do that. No prayer group can do that.

If a kingdom wants to interfere or involve in this case, they should be higher than Roman kingdom – but no kingdom is over Roman kingdom

Then why these poor believers spending time in prayer?

Wasting time? What these religious people can do with kingdom people?

They know that they are not religious people - the born-again church people are not religious people

We are not religious people rather we are kingdom people.

God created man with that purpose and put them in the Garden of Eden. God asked them to exercise the divine authority and power to rule over the whole world

He didn’t say build a church and start worship

Men was created to exercise the power of the kingdom of heaven.

Not as a religious person rather a kingdom people.

In religion prayer is a begging, but in kingdom prayer is a communication with heavenly government to exercise our God given authority.

President never ask the security and expense for his trip; he just give order everything will be on set.

If any country put an American diplomat in prison, president never beg them to release, instead he just commands the president or prime minister of that country

And God said to rule over everything in the world – God made them rulers not slaves.

Jesus came to this world to restore that kingdom back.

Only higher authorities can cancel the decisions.

We are not merely a religious people rather we are the kingdom people.

No need to beg but command the devil to get out, command the sickness to go, command the problem to move out of our way

Jesus came to this world not as a religious person to make another religion rather he came to prepare (restore) the kingdom

Ish: 9:6. He is the Prince of peace and the Government will be on his shoulders, Messiah will be a king not a religious person.

Mt: 2:2. Look at the question of the wise men to king Herod

Herod. After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem 2 and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”

Mk: 1:14-15. Jesus started to preach about the kingdom of God (Government)

Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Jesus did not answer the question of the religious leaders, but when Pilate asked about his kingship he said “I am”

Jn: 18: 37. You are a king, then!” said Pilate. Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king.

But Jesus clarified about His kingdom nature:

Jn: 18: 36. Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.”

Remember, people who has their kingdom only on this earth will fight each other

That’s what Jesus taught his disciples in the prayer:

Mtt: 6:10. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Kingdom people never worry about their living, just get into the kingdom then everything will follow, that is kingdom protocol

That why Paul reminds us that we are the ambassador of the kingdom of God – the word ambassador is not a religious word, but a government word - he is a government diplomat

Mtt: 6:33. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you

An ambassador does not worry about his travel expense, about his stay, food, cloths, children’s study,

Therefore, Jesus said after he defeated devil, I have the key – key to exercise the divine power.

Therefore, Jesus said all the authority in heaven and on this earth has been given to me.

When God’s people gather and send petition to our king – the plan of devil will be cancelled.

The invisible kingdom is more powerful than the visible kingdom

And our Lord is the king of kings and Lord of lord who appoint the kings over the kingdoms

Prob: 21: 1. In the Lord’s hand the king’s heart is a stream of water that he channels toward all who please him.

Dan: 2: 37. Your Majesty, you are the king of kings. The God of heaven has given you dominion and power and might and glory;

Dan: 4: 17. The decision is announced by angels (messengers) , the holy ones (God’s servants) declare the verdict, so that the living may know that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes and sets over them the lowliest of people.

Dan: 4: 25-26. You will be driven away from people and will live with the wild animals; you will eat grass like the ox and be drenched with the dew of heaven. Seven times will pass by for you until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes

26 The command to leave the stump of the tree with its roots means that your kingdom will be restored to you when you acknowledge that Heaven rules.
