Prayer Cancels the Schemes of the Devil (Part 2)

1 Samuel 12:23-24 - "As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you. And I will teach you the way that is good and right. But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you."

Prayer is not a religious ritual, rather it is a responsibility for God’s anointed ones to fulfill for individuals, families, churches, and the nations.

The Lord has appointed prayer warriors in His church. Prayer is a fight. To pray is to resist and attack the enemy.

Prayer warriors in the church are like the king's appointed watchmen on the wall.

The prayer room is a watch tower.

The Lord appointed the prophet Samuel as the watchman of Israel.

Prayer cancels the devil’s schemes because prayer has power.

Isaiah 54:17 - "No weapon formed against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you."

Just like a petition filed against illegal construction - the devil cannot build any wall against someone who prays.

We take precautions in advance such as taking vaccinations for the flu, or TB, and other diseases.

Prayer destroys the weapons of the devil – a prayer life gives us full confidence in our God and His power.

The power of prayer is released through our tongues.

The words we speak through prayer carries power.

Isaiah 55:11 - "So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."

God used His mouth and words to create the whole universe.

Genesis 1:3 - "And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light."

Psalms 33:6,9 - "By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth. 9. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm."

God gave us the same principle – use our mouth – send out the power of the word by preaching, praying, praising, singing. What we proclaim with our mouth and the words we speak carries power to change situations and create life.

Take a decision today to not sin against God by failing to pray for your family, your children, your pastor, your church, and for your nation.

You have been appointed as the watchman on the wall!
