Grace to the Humble

But He gives us more grace.

That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”

James 4:7-10 - "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up."

We as believers are not in a playground, but we are in a battlefield.

Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the devil.

Ephesians 6:12 - "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."

He does not come against us with real weapons, but with cheap tricks.

2 Corinthians 2:11 - "In order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes."

A soldier cannot be careless, but in every second and with every movement, he must be sober and alert.

Ephesians 5:15-16 - "Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil."

The devil is not after our material blessing, but he is after our prayer life, our anointing, our fruits of the Spirit, our relationship with God.

Ephesians 4:27 - "Do not give the devil a foothold."

The devil doesn’t need a whole room, all he needs is to get his foot in the door. We can spend a whole two hours with God, but if we give the devil just two minutes, that is enough for him to defeat us.
