The Good Work In You (Part 1)

Philippians 1:3-6 - "I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

"I thank my God every time I remember you"

What do we do when we remember others?

Often, we turn to other people to make comments about them?

But Paul turned to God to thank Him for them because he knew they belonged to God.

"In all my prayers for all of you"

Paul prays for all the members of the church in Philippi as well as all the other churches in Macedonia, Asia Minor, Europe, Rome, Jerusalem, and Syria.

Paul has a spirit of prayer. More than saying mere words, more than performing a ritual of prayer, Paul had the ability to touch everyone everywhere with a spirit of prayer.

Prayer is, without a doubt, the fastest delivery system in this world!

"I always pray with joy"

The intensity of our prayer determines the intensity of our joy.

Worry cannot hold our prayers down - as a balloon filled with helium always go up, so does a prayer filled with joy.

Paul was filled with joy and nothing could take away his joy and therefore, he was able to share that joy.

Paul was not a needy person, but instead was always giving away and providing others with prayer, joy, grace, and peace. He was a storehouse of the God's goodness.

Just like a pharmacy has medicine, or like a bakery has cakes and sweets that are ready to be supplied to others, what is in your life that is in supply to give others when they approach you?

We are the stores of Jesus, stores of the Holy Spirit, stores of the word of God, stores of spiritual gifts.

We are not spiritual babies, but mature enough to give our helping hands to others.
