Deuteronomy 2:1-3 – “Then we turned back and set out toward the wilderness along the route to the Red Sea, as the Lord had directed me. For a long time we made our way around the hill country of Seir. 2 Then the Lord said to me, 3 “You have made your way around this hill country long enough; now turn north.” Once again, Israel wasted their time by going around the hill country, the same way they wasted time when they were held up in Horeb last time. Why do we as Christians, as believers, need to study about the Israelites’ journey? It happened almost three thousand five hundred years ago, what does it have to do with us today? Deuteronomy 1:6 - “The Lord our God said to us at Horeb, “You have stayed long enough at this mountain. Break camp and advance into the hill country of the Amorites; go to all the neighboring peoples in the Arabah, in the mountains" Why did the Israelites stop at Horeb and waste so much of their time there?
